Noel Gallagher 點名 Stone Roses 歌詞是畢生最愛：「那首歌讓我知道自己的命運」

在 HMV 推出的「My Inspiration」系列訪談中，Oasis 主腦 Noel Gallagher 點名 The Stone Roses 1989 年同名專輯曲目〈She Bangs the Drum〉裡的一段歌詞，稱其為個人有史以來最愛的歌詞，並表示這是一句他希望自己寫出來的詞。

Noel 選出的段落如下：

他認為這幾行詞精準預言了 Oasis 日後「我們來接管了」的氣場，同時也體現了 Stone Roses 整張首專的能量——一種奪取時代火炬的宣示。

從〈Sally Cinnamon〉到組團的決定性瞬間

Noel 在 2002 年的後台訪問中回憶，Stone Roses 出現之前，他和弟弟 Liam 崇拜的是 The Jam 和 The Smiths，但 The Smiths 的藝術院校形象讓他覺得「那種樂團和我們無關」。直到看見 Stone Roses 的散漫形象，他才意識到自己也辦得到。

「當我第一次聽到〈Sally Cinnamon〉，我就知道自己的命運是什麼，」Noel 說。他更進一步描述 Stone Roses 首張專輯在搖滾譜系中的位置：「它影響了影響了影響了現在這些人的那些人——Sex Pistols、The Jam、The Smiths、Stone Roses、Oasis、The Verve，就是這條血脈。」
