U2 翻唱 The Pogues 曲目，收錄 MacGowan 致敬專輯
U2 釋出 The Pogues 1989 年曲目〈Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah〉的翻唱版本，收錄於 Shane MacGowan 致敬合輯《20th Century Paddy – The Songs Of Shane MacGowan》。該專輯今年 3 月announce、預定 11 月 13 日發行，由 MacGowan 遺孀 Victoria Mary Clarke 主導，並與廠牌 Rubyworks 及 John Kennedy 合作。據 NME 報導，這是繼 Bruce Springsteen、Dropkick Murphys 之後釋出的第三首先行曲。

U2 與 MacGowan 的往來
U2 吉他手 The Edge 在聲明中形容 MacGowan「充滿矛盾」，並引用 Oscar Wilde 的說法「a mask tells us more than a face」（面具比臉透露得更多）。他另提到 MacGowan 的口音與姿態，是把自己放進從酒吧說書人延伸到 punk 舞台的譜系裡。
兩方交情深厚，U2 曾多次翻唱 The Pogues 作品：2018 年 MacGowan 六十歲生日演唱會上，與 Johnny Depp 同台演出〈A Rainy Night In Soho〉；2023 年於 Las Vegas Sphere 駐場期間，在 MacGowan 逝世消息傳出後將該曲加入 setlist。MacGowan 於 2023 年 11 月因肺炎於醫院逝世，享年 65 歲，同年 12 月 8 日在 County Tipperary 的 Nenagh 舉行告別式。
